Once you’ve contacted us by telephone or email, we’ll arrange a convenient time for you and your dog to visit Studforth. This gives you the opportunity to look around our facilities, meet us, and allows us to get to know your dog.
If all goes well, we’ll then arrange a trial day to help your dog become familiar with their new surroundings. Following a successful trial, we’ll invite them to stay for an overnight visit before their first holiday with us.
Our priority is for every dog to feel happy, relaxed, and at home during their stay. By introducing them to Studforth gradually, we help ensure they arrive for their holiday feeling confident, comfortable, and excited to see us again.
We ask that you bring your dog’s usual food with you for their stay. To help us keep their routine consistent, please also provide a measuring scoop with the correct portion clearly marked, so we can feed them the same amount they receive at home.
If your dog’s food needs to be refrigerated or frozen, please let us know before you arrive so we can ensure we have sufficient storage space available.
We encourage our customers to bring a couple of favourite toys and a bed or blanket. This is so your dog has some familiar sights and smells and hopefully makes their kennel feel more like home when they come for their holiday at Studforth.
We encourage all dogs to join our small group walks in our fully enclosed exercise paddocks. These supervised sessions give your dog the opportunity to socialise, play, and make new friends while enjoying their stay at Studforth.
If you would prefer your dog to be walked individually or on a lead we are happy to provide this service. Please note that a surcharge of £10 per day applies for individual walks.
We are fortunate to have two fully enclosed exercise paddocks, just a short walk from the kennels, where our guests can enjoy plenty of space to run, play, and explore safely. Be sure to take a look at our gallery to see them for yourself.
Studforth also has beautiful private gardens surrounding the kennels. These provide a peaceful setting for our older guests, or those who prefer a gentler pace, to enjoy a leisurely wander and some fresh air.
While your dog is out on their morning and afternoon walks, Caron will hover and mop their kennel, refresh their water and make their bed so they come back to a clean and tidy home.
“We’ve been using Studforth kennels for approximately 12 years now. We have always been more than happy with the service provided, the staff are very knowledgeable and competent, I know that my dog will be kept safe and well cared for no matter whether she stays for a weekend or a month. I would recommend Studforth Boarding Kennels to any dog owner.”
